Dear VASP users.
New versions of POTCAR files were released in 2012, and I need those for C and H atoms.
However, in the topmost of such POTCAR files, the release dates are the same as those in previous versions, that is, 08Apr2002 and 15Jun2001, for C and H, respectively.
These release dates are confusing since I have found differences between old and new versions of the POTCAR files.
How can I be ensured of which version of POTCAR files I am using?

the date in the header of a POTCAR is just a comment line, the files in the released last December ARE the most up-to-date ones
