Vasp4.6: sun solaris: Segmentation fault

I installed vasp4.6 in sun solaris systemm...vasp compiled without any error ..however while running the job..it is giving segmentation fault error:

Get a modern vasp version ... The 4.6 series ended with 4.6.36 or so ...

I first tried with vasp5.2 only, it did not compile on sun solaris..vasp5.2 compiles neatly and runs smoothly on Red hat Linux as per my experience...
This was when I thought of trying older vasp version...but it gave segmentation fault as above....
